Kessel slammed home a loose puck in front of the Columbus next 3:15 into overtime for his 17th of the season and second of the night as the Penguins pulled within two points of the second-place Blue Jackets in the taut Metropolitan Division.

Matt D’Agostini scored his second goal of the game 1:45 into overtime to give the Montreal Canadiens a 3-2 win over the New York Islanders on Friday night. D’Agostini, who opened the scoring 6:53 in, jumped on a loose puck in front of the Islanders’ net and put a quick shot past Mike Morrison after Montreal blew its second one-goal lead with 5:57 remaining in the third.
