Matt D’Agostini scored his second goal of the game 1:45 into overtime to give the Montreal Canadiens a 3-2 win over the New York Islanders on Friday night. D’Agostini, who opened the scoring 6:53 in, jumped on a loose puck in front of the Islanders’ net and put a quick shot past Mike Morrison after Montreal blew its second one-goal lead with 5:57 remaining in the third.

Joe Pavelski scored an empty-net goal with 26 seconds left for a 3-1 lead, with Marc-Edouard Vlasic picking up the first assist and Thornton the second.
