Weller, Auld lead Coyotes over Ducks 1-0

The Anaheim Ducks' Chris Kunitz (14) hits the ice on a last ditch effort to gain control of the puck as the Phoenix Coyotes' Mathias Tjarnqvist, left, Mike Zigomanis (15) and Nick Boynton (44) look on late in the third period of an NHL hockey game in Anaheim, Calif., Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007.

It had been a long time since the Phoenix Coyotes beat the Ducks in Anaheim, and two newcomers helped them end that streak of futility. Rookie Craig Weller scored his first NHL goal and Alex Auld logged his third career shutout in a 1-0 win Thursday night. The victory was Phoenix’s first in 11 games in Anaheim dating to Nov.
