Stoll gets Oilers past Sharks in SO

San Jose Sharks' Craig Rivet, left, congratulates teammate Joe Thornton on his game-tying goal on the Edmonton Oilers during third-period NHL hockey action at Edmonton's Rexall Place in Canada on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007.

It looked like yet another collapse by the Edmonton Oilers, until Jarret Stoll rescued his teammates. Stoll’s shootout goal overcame a late tying score from San Jose’s Joe Thornton, as the Oilers made their first step towards erasing the memory of last season’s late collapse with a 3-2 victory over the Sharks on Thursday night.
