Alex Kovalev scored 4:31 into overtime to lead the Montreal Canadiens to a 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday night in the first preseason game for both teams. Kovalev took Mark Streit’s pass and cut into the slot before beating Marc-Andre Fleury with a wrist shot as Pittsburgh squandered an opportunity to play the final minutes with a 5-on-3 advantage.
