Defenseman Pavel Kubina converted the only goal of a 14-shot shootout Saturday, giving the Toronto Maple Leafs a 4-3 preseason victory over the Boston Bruins. Boston goalie Tim Thomas had to touch only one of the first six shoots in the shootout — with two hitting posts — before Kubina walked in and scored on a backhander.
