The Edmonton Oilers placed defenseman Sheldon Souray on the injured list with a sprained left shoulder and recalled Ladislav Smid on Wednesday. Souray has missed three games since being injured against Vancouver on Oct. 13. He is expected to be out two more weeks. He had a goal and an assist in six games.
Free-agent Michael Peca, who missed the last half of the season with a broken leg, has agreed to a one-year deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
