Connolly scores in debut, Sabres win

Buffalo Sabres center Marek Zagrapan (8) of Slovakia, has the puck stick-checked away by Pittsburgh Penguins center Maxime Talbot (25) behind the Penguins net during the first period of a NHL hockey game at the HSBC Arena in Buffalo, NY., Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007.

Tim Connolly broke a third-period tie, and Derek Roy and Dmitri Kalinin had a goal and an assist each to lift the Buffalo Sabres to a 4-3 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night in the preseason finale for both teams. Connolly scored the winner with just under 6 minutes left, knocking a rebound past goalie Marc-Andre Fleury after Fleury stopped Kalinin’s shot from the left circle.
