Carey Price made 26 saves and the Montreal Canadiens extended their winning streak to five games with a 4-1 victory over the New York Rangers on Saturday night. Shea Weber, Artturi Lehkonen, Andrew Shaw and Jordie Benn scored for the Canadiens, who are in first place in the Atlantic Division. Max Pacioretty and Alex Galchenyuk each had two assists for Montreal, which has won six of seven.

Eric Staal broke loose toward the Montreal net and beat Carey Price with a sharp shot that scraped the top short-side corner . The rout was on for the Wild early in the second period, and the weary Canadiens couldn’t come close to keeping up. Nino Niederreiter had two goals, and the Wild overwhelmed Price and the Canadiens on their way to a 7-1 victory Thursday night.
