Nevada sports books now allowed to take bets on NFL draft (Sports Betting News)

Football fans who look forward every year to what players their favorite team selects at the NFL draft can now bet on the outcome in Nevada. Nevada gambling regulators have approved for the first time a series of proposition bets – unique wagers offered on specific outcomes – on the draft, which will take place at the end of the month. At least one sports book began taking bets over the weekend, but others have decided to skip the option or take time to ponder it.

Tyrod Taylor will remain the Buffalo Bills starter after the team announced it restructured the player’s five-year contract extension on Wednesday. The move was made a day before the NFL’s free-agency period began, and before the Bills faced a deadline on Saturday to determine whether to pick up the extension Taylor signed in August or part ways with the two-year starter. Taylor’s long-term future in Buffalo had otherwise been in question since the season ended, when general manager Doug Whaley declined to say whether the team was committed to keeping the player.
