Cowboys WR Glenn won’t play vs. Giants

Dallas receiver Terry Glenn will miss the Cowboys’ opener Sunday against the New York Giants after injuring the knee that was operated on in the preseason. The 33-year-old missed all four preseason games after arthroscopic surgery Aug. 1 to remove a cyst from the back of his right kneecap. The latest injury came in practice two days ago, coach Wade Phillips said Friday.

The Seahawks signed former Minnesota kicker Blair Walsh on Thursday, the strongest sign yet that Seattle may be moving on from Steven Hauschka. Hauschka will be a free agent when the new league year begins next month and after a season of inconsistency the Seahawks are looking at other options. Walsh spent five seasons with the Vikings before being released midway through last season, but is mostly known for a crucial miss.
