Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard waited patiently to make his biggest offseason splash. On Thursday, Ballard jumped into the free agent pool and got former New York Giants defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins with a three-year deal worth $30 million and $15.9 million in guaranteed money, according to a person with direct knowledge of the contract terms. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the Colts hadn’t yet announced the numbers.
