Cameron names QB Green Dolphins’ starter

Miami Dolphins quarterback Trent Green drops back to pass during a preseason football game against the Jacksonville Jaguars Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at Dolphin Stadium in Miami. As much as Green enjoyed his six years with the Kansas City Chiefs, he doesn't have time for nostalgia. So when he travels to Arrowhead Stadium for the Dolphins' exhibition game against his former team Thursday night, Green,s focus will be on the present rather than the past.

Trent Green was tabbed as the Miami Dolphins’ starting quarterback Monday, ending a bit of training camp speculation over who would win the job. Green beat out Cleo Lemon, said Dolphins coach Cam Cameron — who insisted throughout camp that a real competition was taking place at quarterback and that the 37-year-old veteran wasn’t being handed the starting role.
