Arizona State’s Torian Graham has apologized for making an obscene gesture Thursday night before the Sun Devils’ loss at No. 16 Arizona. Graham flipped both middle fingers at Arizona’s student section as he walked toward the locker room, a gesture that was caught on camera. The senior said on Twitter that he was responding to racial slurs, but later deleted the tweet.

Shaka Smart’s tough second season at Texas is taking yet another rough turn. With his team already struggling at 7-9 after starting the season the Top 25, Smart indefinitely suspended leading scorer Tevin Mack on Thursday for an unspecified team rules violation. ”We have a set of standards that we expect people in our program to adhere to,” Smart said.

Cruising along with what seemed to be a comfortable lead in the second half against Pittsburgh, No. 14 Louisville ended up needing every point it could get to prevent hot-shooting Jamel Artis from leading the Panthers back. Quentin Snider scored 22 points, including two free throws with 25.3 seconds remaining, and Deng Adel added a free throw 8 seconds later as Louisville survived Artis’ career-high 43 points to outlast Pittsburgh 85-80 on Wednesday night.
