LeBron James has smoothed things over with his teammates and bosses – for now. In the aftermath of calling Cleveland’s roster ”top heavy” and questioning the organization’s commitment to winning a second championship following Monday’s loss in New Orleans, James met with the Cavaliers as a team and spoke one on one Wednesday with general manager David Griffin to discuss his assertions. ”I think we both needed it,” said Griffin, who spoke to reporters shortly before the Cavs hosted the Sacramento Kings.

Russell Westbrook had 27 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists, passing Larry Bird with his 60th career triple-double, and the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the New Orleans Pelicans 114-105 on Wednesday night. Pelicans All-Star Anthony Davis left late in the second quarter after re-aggravating a right thigh injury that kept him out of New Orleans’ upset of Cleveland on Monday night. The Pelicans trailed by 12 when Davis left and went down by as many as 22 early in the third before rallying to as close as five points.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr says what amazes him about Stephen Curry is how immensely popular he is with young kids – maybe even more so than his former Chicago Bulls teammate Michael Jordan in his prime. ”The crowd size is similar, but the biggest difference is the children that gravitate toward Steph,” Kerr said in comparing the two players’ fan base following. Jordan is arguably the NBA’s most popular player ever, but Kerr theorizes young kids today relate to Curry because of his relatively modest stature.
