Money isn’t the only factor that prevented Kirk Cousins from joining the Denver Broncos. Les Shapiro of Mile High Sports Radio reported Tuesday that Broncos general manager John Elway was told signing the veteran quarterback would be a “long shot.” The reason supposedly being, “among other things,” Cousins was “very concerned” with the team’s coaching staff led by second-year lame-duck head man Vance Joseph. This, according to Shapiro, prompted Elway to hone in on his next target, Minnesota’s Case Keenum, who’s reportedly agreed to a two-year, $36 million contract that will become official Wednesday.
