Wake Forest has agreed to a deal with East Tennessee State’s Steve Forbes to be its next coach, replacing the fired Danny Manning, sources told ESPN.
In prepping for his final public appearance at Cameron Indoor Stadium as a Duke student, Grayson Allen received a tip from his mother to control his emotions. “(Here’s) a quote my mom sent me today to help my not cry while I was up here,� Allen said during his senior speech at Duke’s basketball banquet Thursday night. “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.� With all the good and the bad that’s happened in his Duke basketball career, Allen is smiling now. After helping Duke to a 29-8 record and an NCAA tournament elite eight appearance, he’ll graduate next month and continue his preparation for the NBA Draft in June. He did get emotional during one part of his speech, though.
Major League Baseball wants to expand, that much we know. The question, of course, is where could MLB’s potential 32nd team call home? MLB commissioner Rob Manfred joined the FOX Sports San Diego telecast of Friday’s Los Angeles Dodgers-San Diego Padres game, which was played in Monterrey, Mexico. And during his appearance, Manfred confirmed the league’s hopes for expansion, which possibly could result in another team in Canada, or even one in Mexico. A return to Montreal wouldn’t be groundbreaking, as the Montreal Expos (now Washington Nationals) played in “The City of Saints� from 1969 to 2004. Putting a Major League team in Mexico, however, certainly would be fascinating. As for Friday’s game,
