A decades-long Baylor fan got emotional with coach Scott Drew after the Bears won their last game to remain one of two undefeated teams in the country. Baylor wasn’t even getting votes in the Top 25 poll at the start of the season two months ago, when its football team was in the midst of a 7-6 season overshadowed by scandal. In the final game of a run against six straight ranked teams, four of FSU’s starting five scored in double figures as it was able to hold off No. 12 Louisville 73-68. The win keeps Florida State (18-2, 6-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) tied atop the conference and gave it five wins during this ranked gantlet.
After an overtime loss four days earlier, first-year Louisville coach Chris Mack reminded his team what it needed to do in overtime against Michigan State on Tuesday. The Cardinals responded and knocked off the No. 9 Spartans, 82-78.
