Josh Green’s current focus is on suiting up for Australia at the 2023 FIBA World Cup later this month. But the Dallas Mavericks wing admitted that he’s hopeful for a contract extension in the NBA, as well.

“I’ve really just focused on this. Whatever happens kind of happens. Obviously, it’s a cool feeling to be in that situation but, at the same time, I put so much work to be able to be in this position now, that you wanna continue to work,” Green said. “I hope it happens. I want to be in Dallas. I love Dallas. I love the fanbase, love the guys. To think I could be in Dallas long-term would be amazing.”

Green is eligible for a rookie scale extension until the end of the NBA offseason in late-October. If no extension is reached, Dallas can make Green a restricted free agent in the summer of 2024.

Kristaps Porzingis left Game 4 of the Boston Celtics’ first round series against the Miami Heat with a non-contact injury.

The Celtics publicly announced Porzingis was doubtful to return with right calf tightness.

Sources tell ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski that the early indications are Porzingis did not sustain an injury to his Achilles.
