Study: NBA earns high marks for diversity hiring practices

Derrick White: ‘Would Be Cool’ To Extend With CelticsDerrick White: ‘Would Be Cool’ To Extend With Celtics

Derrick White has only been with the Boston Celtics for a year-and-a-half, but he feels at home in Boston. So much so, that White recently said he’d be welcome to an extension with the Celtics.

“I love being here in Boston. It would be cool to get an extension,” White said. “We’ll see what happens during that window, but I’ve loved my time in Boston so far and my focus right now is just on the season.”

That focus this season is on being the Celtics primary point guard. With the trade of Marcus Smart, White is expected to take on more of an on-ball role with Boston this season.

“I’m looking forward to it,” White said about the change in his role. “I’ll definitely have the ball in my hands, more of a playmaker role, and I’m looking forward to grow with the team and just get us in the right position each and every time.”
