Stephen Silas explains focus areas for Rockets' new coaching staff

The New York Knicks have acquired Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks from the Detroit Pistons for Quentin Grimes, Evan Fournier, Malachi Flynn, Ryan Arcidiacono and two second-round picks.

The Pistons had rejected trade interest in Bogdanovic last trade deadline after they signed him to a two-year, $39 million extension shortly after he was dealt to the team by the Utah Jazz. Bogdanovic won’t be a free agent until 2025.

Burks previously played for the Knicks before he was traded to the Pistons in 2022 to create cap space to sign Jalen Brunson.

Fournier is making $18.9 million this season and there is a team option on his contract for 24-25.

The Sacramento Kings will hire Scott Perry as general manager. Perry previously spent three months with the Kings in 2017 before abruptly exiting to join the front office of the New York Knicks.

Perry bridged the regimes of Steve Mills and Leon Rose, but left the Knicks in 2023 when his contract expired.

The Kings turned over their top-two decision-makers in the front office with the departures of Monte McNair and Wes Wilcox.
