Shane Battier has returned to the Miami Heat. Battier is now a member of the Heat front office, assuming the newly created role of director of basketball development and analytics. The Heat announced the move Thursday, describing Battier’s new job as one where he will develop analytics to evaluate talent – including college players, free agents and members of the existing roster.

The Miami Heat are putting together a trade package for Damian Lillard that would include three or four first-round picks, sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic.

“The Heat have been preparing a trade package around three-to-four first-round draft picks, potential draft swaps, as well as second round picks…a young player potentially,” said Charania on The Rally.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald also reported earlier in the day that the Blazers have been acting disinterested towards trading Lillard to the Heat.
