Mike Budenholzer, Sam Cassell, Mike D’Antoni, Nick Nurse, Frank Vogel and Monty Williams are among the expected candidates for the Philadelphia 76ers have they fired Doc Rivers on Tuesday.
Budenholzer, Nurse and Williams became available this offseason despite the former two winning titles in recent years, while the latter reached a Finals. Vogel, who didn’t coach last season, won a title with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.
D’Antoni was previously a candidate for the Philadelphia job in 2020 when they instead hired Rivers.
Cassell has not previously been a head coach, but he is a longtime assistant and has been a strong candidate in recent cycles.
