Sixers Match 3-Year, $23M Offer Sheet For Paul Reed

The Philadelphia 76ers matched Paul Reed’s three-year, $23 million offer sheet from the Utah Jazz, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

With Reed signing the offer sheet on Saturday morning, the Sixers waited until late Sunday night to match the offer.

Reed has veto power on any trade and cannot be dealt to the Jazz for a year.

With the first season of the deal fully guaranteed, the last two years become guaranteed should Reed’s team reaches the conference semifinals in 2023-24.

The Sixers are projected to be $6.6 million over the luxury tax, according to Bobby Marks.

Jamal Murray had 28 points, 12 assists and eight rebounds and made two late 3-pointers to halt a Lakers charge, helping the Denver Nuggets to a 114-106 victory Tuesday night that cut Los Angeles’ lead to 2-1 in the Western Conference finals. The Nuggets lost almost all of a 20-point lead in the fourth quarter but held on to win, avoiding a 3-0 hole that would have been daunting even for this never-out-of-it team. Denver has set a record by erasing two 3-1 deficits in this postseason, but no NBA team has ever come back from 3-0.
