Sixers Expect To Have James Harden At Practice On Tuesday

James Harden didn’t travel with the Philadelphia 76ers for their two-game road trip to open the season. He won’t play in the Sixers home opener either. But Harden should rejoin the team for full practices starting this week.

76ers coach Nick Nurse said that Harden went through the team’s walkthrough ahead of their game on Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers. Harden also participated in video work.

The next step is for Harden to do live work in practice on Tuesday. A decision made on his playing status for Philadelphia’s game on Thursday will likely be made following that Tuesday practice.

The Utah Jazz signed Paul Reed Jr. to a three-year, $23 million offer sheet, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

With Reed signing the offer sheet on Saturday morning, the Sixers will have until 11:59 ET on Sunday night to match.

The first season of the offer sheet is fully guaranteed, with the remaining two seasons becoming guaranteed if Reed’s team reaches the conference semifinals in 2023-24.

Should the 76ers match the offer sheet, the team would incur $14 million in luxury tax penalties. Reed would also have veto power on trades for the first year in Philadelphia.
