Scottie Barnes, Raptors Agree To Five-Year Max Extension Worth Up To $270M

Scottie Barnes and the Toronto Raptors have agreed to a five-year maximum contract worth up to $270 million if he qualifies for the Rose rule with an All-NBA selection during the 24-25 season. The Rose rule allows players signing a designated rookie extension to receive 30 percent of the cap in Year 1. If Barnes doesn’t qualify, his five-year max will be worth approximately $225 million over five seasons.

Agent Bill Duffy negotiated the contract with Masai Ujiri and Bobby Webster of the Raptors.

Barnes won Rookie of the Year in 2022 and was named to his first All-Star team in 2022.

Barnes finished the 23-24 season averaging 19.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.5 blocks in 34.9 minutes over 60 games.
