The Jamaican national team has been adding established NBA talent ahead of upcoming FIBA competition. Now, even more reinforcements may be on the way.
Scottie Barnes of the Toronto Raptors, Isaiah Stewart II of the Detroit Pistons and Devin Vassell of the San Antonio Spurs are in talks to play for Jamaica on the national team level. The trio would join Amen Thompson of the Houston Rockets and Ausar Thompson of the Detroit Pistons, who have begun the process to be eligible to play for Jamaica.
Norman Powell of the LA Clippers and Josh Minott of the Minnesota Timberwolves have already committed to play for the Jamaican national team in FIBA World Cup Americas Pre-Qualifying games this August. Nick Richards of the Phoenix Suns may join the team as well.
