Jonathan Kuminga Looking For Max Extension From WarriorsJonathan Kuminga Looking For Max Extension From Warriors

In the latest episode of Sports Betting News’ No Cap Room podcast, Jake Fischer reported on the Golden State Warriors plans with Lauri Markkanen off the trade market. With their young players still in the fold, the Warriors are expected to turn towards potentially extending Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody.

A rookie scale extension for Kuminga may not be cheap for Golden State. Fischer reported that Kuminga is looking for a max extension. That would see 6-foot-8 forward signing for just over a projected $224 million over five years.

Thus far, Cade Cunningham, Evan Mobley, Scottie Barnes and Franz Wagner have all received max rookie scale extensions from the 2021 NBA Draft class.

Kuminga averaged career-highs nearly across the board last season. He put up 16.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 26.3 minutes per game. Kuminga also started in 46 of the 74 games he played, while shooting 53% from the field and 75% at the free throw line.
