After much anticipation, the NBA Finals got underway on the Orlando campus by matching two franchises with strong championship DNA, the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers. The Heat came out blazing, taking a 13-point lead in the first quarter, but the Lakers would pick up their energy and fueled by tough defense and sharp shooting, controlled the pace of the game the rest of the way. Led by Anthony Davis' 34 point dominance in his first Finals appearance and LeBron James' 25 points and 13 rebounds, the Lakers took Game 1, 116 to 98. Game 2 tips off on Friday at 9pm ET on ABC.
