Marcus Morris Likely To Sign With Cavaliers Or SixersMarcus Morris Likely To Sign With Cavaliers Or Sixers

Marcus Morris plans to play next season, which would be his 14th NBA season. Morris has seemingly narrowed his decision down to re-signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers or returning to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Morris played for both the Cavs and Sixers last season. He was traded to Philadelphia as a part of the deal that sent James Harden to the LA Clippers. In 37 games (seven starts) with the 76ers, Morris averaged 6.7 points in 17.2 minutes per game and shot 40% on three-pointers.

After a salary-shedding deal at the trade deadline, Morris signed with Cleveland following a buyout from the San Antonio Spurs. In 12 games with the Cavaliers, Morris averaged 5.8 points and shot 41.4% on three-pointers. He then had a handful of productive games for the Cavs in the playoffs.

Morris isn’t prioritizing money in his next contract. Instead, Morris is focused on being with a team where he can have an actual role and play.

Russell Westbrook made the right play at the right time again, swinging a pass to Victor Oladipo for an open 3-pointer that slammed the door on New Orleans’ comeback attempt and completed a historically significant triple-double for the Oklahoma City superstar. Westbrook had 27 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists, passing Larry Bird with his 60th career triple-double, and the Thunder beat the Pelicans 114-105 on Wednesday night. The accomplishment was not lost on Westbrook, who at 28 is too young to have enjoyed Bird’s best basketball with Boston when it happened, but certainly understands what it means to be in the same conversation.
