Mavericks’ Trade Interest In Deandre Ayton ‘Overstated’

The level of interest from the Dallas Mavericks in trading for Deandre Ayton has been “overstated at this point,” sources tell Marc Stein.

The Phoenix Suns are expected to “aggressively shop” Ayton this offseason.

Ayton signed a four-year, $133 million offer sheet with the Indiana Pacers last offseason that the Suns matched. Ayton has $102 million remaining on his contract over three seasons.

“I don’t get any sense at this juncture that Ayton is Dallas’ top trade target,” added Stein.
