Wes Wilcox is a candidate to become general manager at the University of Utah with a deal expected to be reached. Wilcox is currently assistant general manager of the Sacramento Kings and has nearly two decades of experience working in NBA front offices. Wilcox would become the highest ranking NBA front office executive to exit the league for a GM job at a major basketball program.

Wilcox hired current Utah coach Alex Jensen as the head coach for the Canton Charge of the G League.

Before working for the Kings, Wilcox was general manager of the Hawks from 2015 until 2017.
