The Toronto Raptors are hiring Darko Rajakovic as their next head coach. Rajakovic has been an assistant with the Memphis Grizzlies for the past three seasons.
Toronto parted ways with Nick Nurse after five seasons as their head coach following the 2022-23 regular season. Nurse subsequently took the job as the Philadelphia 76ers head coach.
Rajakovic has been a long-time NBA assistant. In addition to working with the Grizzlies, the 44-year-old has been an assistant with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Phoenix Suns in the NBA. Rajakovic has also coached in the G League, as well as in Spain and his native Serbia. He’s also worked as an assistant with the Serbian National Team.
