The Phoenix Suns fell apart in the second half of their home loss the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday. Veteran forward Kevin Durant didn’t mince words after the loss.
“We didn’t play up to our standards at all,” Durant said. “We embarrassed the fans and we embarrassed ourselves the way we played. I want us to be better.”
The Timberwolves scored 40 points off 22 Suns turnovers. Durant said when things get tough for Phoenix, they don’t deal with adversity well.
“When adversity hits, we start floating a little as a team,” Durant said. “That’s tough to deal with it.”
With the loss, the Suns dropped to 28-33 on the season. They are now four games out of of the final spot in the Western Conference Play-In Tournament.
