Sacramento Police Sgt. Matt Young announced that police are investigating sexual assault charges against Sacramento Kings forward Justin Williams, during a news conference in Sacramento, Calif., Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007. Police say a young woman has accused Williams of assaulting her Friday morning, Oct. 12, 2007, at his home in Sacramento.

Authorities are investigating allegations that Sacramento Kings player Justin Williams sexually assaulted a female acquaintance, a Sacramento Police Department spokesman said Thursday. Team spokesman Troy Hanson said Williams has been given an indefinite leave of absence and returned to Sacramento from a road trip to New Mexico to obtain a lawyer, a step recommended by team officials.
