Jaylen Brown Played Through Partially Torn Meniscus At End Of Season

Boston Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown played through a partially torn right meniscus to end the season. Brown began receiving injections in his right knee in March and played until Boston’s season ended in Game 6 of the second round.

Brown will now be reevaluated this week to see if surgery is necessary.

Despite playing through pain, Brown wouldn’t use the injury as an excuse. In the aftermath of the Celtics loss, Brown told reporters he was proud of the way the team fought in the playoffs.

“I don’t make excuses,” Brown said. “Obviously, it’s tough the way we went out like tonight, but the way we finished the year, personally, the way I finished the year, persevering through some physical stuff that I was battling through, I’m proud of our group.”
