David Adelman has agreed to become head coach of the Denver Nuggets on a permanent basis. Adelman, a longtime assistant coach to Michael Malone, was elevated to interim head coach toward the end of the regular season.
Adelman helped lead the Nuggets to a first round series win over the LA Clippers and then a seven-game series loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Adelman began his NBA career with the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2011 before a brief stint with the Orlando Magic and then joining the Nuggets in 2017.
Denver still hasn’t hired a general manager to replace Calvin Booth.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver reiterated Friday that he remains intrigued by the possibility of adding some kind of midseason tournament in the future, as well as altering the 82-game schedule.
