Hayward tells Jazz he’s opting out, sources say

Jalen Suggs will undergo arthroscopic surgery to remove a cartilage fragment in his left knee, sources told Shams Charania of ESPN.

Suggs, who is expected to make a full recovery, is out indefinitely.

Suggs, Paolo Banchero, and Franz Wagner have played just 97 minutes together this season.

Suggs is averaging 16.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists on the year.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and restricted free agent forward Isaac Okoro agreed to a three-year, $38 million contract Saturday afternoon, agents Michael Tellem, Jeff Schwartz and Marcus Monk told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Okoro, 23, was the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft, and was the last restricted free agent left on the market. His signing, which comes just over two weeks before the start of training camp, caps a busy and productive summer for the Cavaliers.
