‘Growing Consensus’ Jimmy Butler Likely To Remain With Heat Past Trade Deadline

Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat may not come to terms on a long-term contract, but there is “a growing consensus” that he will likely remain with the franchise past the deadline unless he becomes a distract. Butler has a fairly narrow trade market considering his age, impending free agent status and the more restrictive trade market with the new collective bargaining agreement.

Butler can sign an extension with the Heat worth up to $112.6 million over two seasons. Butler has a $52.4 million player option for 25-26.

“Miami has to do what is best for them, not what is in the best interest for Butler,” a Western Conference executive told ESPN in Orlando.

Bradley Beal Ramping Up, Could Return In 10 DaysBradley Beal Ramping Up, Could Return In 10 Days

Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal has begun to ramp up in the rehab process from his back injury. If all goes according to plan, Beal could return to the Suns in the next 10 days.

After being acquired from the Washington Wizards this offseason, the veteran guard has played in just three games this season. Beal was able to play in three games from November 8 to 12, before being sidelined with a reoccurrence of back pain.

Beal has now missed 11 straight games for Phoenix, and 18 games in total. If Beal returns on, or around, December 15, he’ll miss an additional three to four games.
