Giannis Antetokounmpo Leaves Game 1 With Lower Back Contusion, X-Rays Return ‘Clear’

Giannis Antetokounmpo left Game 1 with a lower back contusion and will not return, the Milwaukee Bucks announced.

X-rays on Antetokounmpo’s back returned “clear,” according to Mike Budenholzer.

“We’ll monitor him and see how he wakes up [Monday],” said Budenholzer.

Antetokounmpo initially suffered the injury after taking a charge from Kevin Love in the first quarter.

Antetokounmpo briefly returned to the game in the second quarter before checking back out for good.
