Dennis Schroder and the Atlanta Hawks salvaged a strong finish to an otherwise disappointing homestand. Schroder scored 26 points, including 13 in the final period, and the Hawks beat the Toronto Raptors 105-99 on Friday night to pull closer in the race for the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. The Hawks finished a 3-3 homestand with two straight wins over Brooklyn and the Raptors.

Zach Lowe Laid Off By ESPNZach Lowe Laid Off By ESPN

ESPN has laid off Zach Lowe as the network continues its series of cuts ahead of the end of their fiscal year in September. Lowe’s salary, which was more than $1 million per year, was the biggest factor in ESPN’s decision.

Lowe had been with ESPN for 12 years with him first joining Grantland.

ESPN also recently lost Adrian Wojnarowski from their NBA coverage with his sudden retirement.
