Draymond Green, Warriors Have Mutual Interest On Multi-Year Deal

The Golden State Warriors intend to discuss a new multi-year contract with Draymond Green this offseason, sources tell The Athletic.

Green is expected to receive interest from multiple playoff-contending teams if he enters the open market.

Green could sign a long-term deal via an opt in and extend or an entirely new deal after an opt out.

Green and the Warriors have mutual interest on continuing their partnership.

Nikola Jokic ‘Wasn’t Happy’ With Nuggets’ DysfunctionNikola Jokic ‘Wasn’t Happy’ With Nuggets’ Dysfunction

Nikola Jokic didn’t speak publicly about the dysfunction that has plagued the Denver Nuggets this season, but sources tell ESPN that he “wasn’t happy about it.”

“Joker is really good at letting you know how he feels,” a team source said, “without saying anything.”

Jokic has never given any indication he would consider leaving the Nuggets and even gave the franchise a vote of confidence before the season despite losing key veterans like Kentavious Caldwell-Pope over the past two offseasons.

“I think people in general, they always want more and more and more, but they don’t know what they have,” Jokic told ESPN. “I’m really happy we have one title — a lot of very good players don’t win.”

But the Nuggets still operate with urgency in maximizing their title window around Jokic.

“We have the best player in the world,” a Nuggets official said. “We take that very seriously.”

The three-year, $212 million extension that Jokic is eligible for this offseason was one of the factors that led to the urgency of Josh Kroenke’s decision to fire Michael Malone and Calvin Booth.

Anthony Davis, Lakers Expected To Sign Extension Before CampAnthony Davis, Lakers Expected To Sign Extension Before Camp

On the most recent episode of The Lowe Post, ESPN’s Dave McMenamin said the Los Angeles Lakers and Anthony Davis are likely to sign an extension. McMenamin said that extending Davis’ deal is far more likely than the Lakers trading Davis.

“Anthony Davis in Rob’s (Pelinka) estimation is someone that has represented the Lakers really well, citing how he played through his foot injury last year as a major reason why they won a championship in 2020 and he wants to continue to have Anthony Davis as a Laker,” said McMenamin.

“Where things stand right now, I expect some sort of an agreement to be reached,” McMenamin added. “A lot of it is one, recognizing that Anthony Davis as a trade chip, there’s no way to replicate the value of what he brings to the court combined with LeBron James when he’s healthy, you just won’t. It’s absolutely impossible.”

McMenamin closed the Davis conversation by saying, “I’m fairly confident that Anthony Davis will come into training camp with an extended deal.”
