Draymond Green To Return For Warriors On Monday

Draymond Green is expected to make his return to the Golden State Warriors lineup on Monday. The Warriors will play at the Memphis Grizzlies in a Martin Luther King Jr. Day matchup.

Green has missed Golden State’s last 16 games. The first 12 were missed due to suspension, with Green missing the last four as he ramped up his return-to-play conditioning.

Green was suspended indefinitely after striking Jusuf Nurkic in the face on December 12. The veteran forward had to undergo anger management therapy and to satisfy other concerns before the NBA would reinstate him. Green, the Warriors, the NBA and the NBPA were all involved in his return-to-play plan.

Months ago when the season began, the Golden State Warriors focused all their energy on incorporating Kevin Durant. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson figured out how to share the shots with another superstar added to the mix, while Draymond Green adjusted to fewer attempts on offense and welcomed another defender who could wreak havoc and block shots. When Durant returns from a left knee injury Saturday barring any setbacks after missing more than a month, he will rejoin a Golden State group on a roll that appears poised for another deep postseason run.
