Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors didn’t get much time to celebrate their 60th win, not with a game at San Antonio coming Wednesday night. Curry scored 32 points, Klay Thompson had 25 and the Warriors built a big lead early and held on for a 113-106 win over the Houston Rockets to become the sixth NBA team to win at least 60 regular season games in three straight seasons. The Warriors scored 37 points in the first quarter and never trailed on the way to their eighth straight victory.

Malik Monk and the Sacramento Kings have agreed to a four-year, $78 million contract. Monk’s contract includes a player option in Year 4. With a starting salary of $17.4 million, Monk will be earning 12.3 percent of the 24-25 salary cap of $141 million.

The Kings offered Monk the maximum they were allowed under the collective bargaining agreement. Monk was set to become an unrestricted free agent, but the Kings secure a commitment from their Sixth Man before he could hit the open market.

Monk averaged 15.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 26.0 minutes over 72 games last season. Monk finished second in Sixth Man of the Year voting behind Naz Reid. Monk’s season ended prematurely due to a sprained MCL.

Monk first joined the Kings in 2022 on a two-year, $19 million deal after establishing himself as a productive scorer with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Monk is represented by Jeff Schwartz and Marcus Monk.
