Sasha Vezenkov is wrapping up a great season with Olympiacos in Greece. That productive year has many thinking Vezenkov is ready to make the leap to the NBA.
The EuroLeague MVP said he’s not ready to make that decision just yet.
“I’m only thinking about how to become the champions of Greece and what will be the right decision for me at this moment,” Vezenkov said. “Nobody knows what will happen in a few years, so I will decide how to continue when the time comes.”
The Sacramento Kings retain Vezenkov’s NBA rights. The Kings acquired Vezenkov’s draft rights at the 2022 NBA Draft, when they sent a draft pick to the Cleveland Cavaliers that later became Isaiah Mobley.
The Cavaliers suffered an embarrassing blowout loss to the Rockets on Saturday night, but league sources told ESPN that coach Tyronn Lue’s job is safe and the team is still pursuing trades ahead of Thursday’s deadline.
