Blazers Will Make Best Deal For The Franchise In Damian Lillard Trade

Portland Trail Blazers general manager issued the following statement in the wake of Damian Lillard’s trade request:

“We have been clear that we want Dame here but he notified us today he wants out and he’d prefer to play someplace else. What has not changed for us is that we’re committed to winning, and we are going to do what’s best for the team in pursuit of that goal.”

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that rival front offices came away believing Cronin is looking for a star-level of return in any trade for Lillard. He also reported that Portland is looking beyond just the Miami Heat in trade discussions.

Subsequent reports said that any trade between Portland and Miami would likely have to feature a third team. Players who carry undesirable contracts for the Trail Blazers would be sent to other teams in these scenarios.

Stephen Curry was ejected in the fourth quarter of the Golden State Warriors’ eventual 122-120 win over the Memphis Grizzlies when he threw his mouthpiece after what he thought was an ill-advised three-point attempt.

“It was a crucial time in the game, and the way that our season has gone, questions about a heightened sense of urgency … when you want something really bad … I reacted in a way that put myself out of the game and put the team in a tough place,” Curry said.

Curry has been ejected three times in his career and all have involved his mouthpiece.

Poole went on to make the game-winning layup.
