Kevin Love won’t be able to help the Cavaliers down the stretch this season. The All-Star forward will miss at least six weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Tuesday, a blow to the defending NBA champions as they try to lock up the top seed in the Eastern Conference and home-court advantage in the playoffs. Love, who is having his best season with Cleveland, had a ”loose body” removed from his knee by orthopedic surgeon David Altchek in New York, the Cavs said.

Steve Kerr and the Golden State Warriors have agreed to a two-year, $35 million contract extension.

Kerr’s deal makes him the highest paid coach in NBA history in terms of annual average at $17.5 million per year. Gregg Popovich makes more than Kerr on an annual basis, but he is also president of the San Antonio Spurs. Erik Spoelstra’s eight-year deal pays him approximately $15 million per year.

The agreement completes months of talks between Golden State general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. and Kerr’s representatives.
