Day after online crash, Rockies sell out

Colorado Rockies Vice President Jay Alves announces that the team was continuing to work to solve problems with online ticket sales to the World Series games during a news conference at Coors Field in Denver on Monday evening, Oct. 22, 2007. Ticket sales to the World Series games to be played in Denver were to be sold online beginning Monday morning. The team's web site had millions of hits causing the system to crash. Sales were suspended until the problems could be worked out.

The Colorado Rockies sold out all three World Series games at Coors Field on Tuesday, one day after their first attempt collapsed in a computer-system crash the team blamed on an “external, malicious attack.” “The online system, after a slow start, certainly worked very, very well for us,” club spokesman Jay Alves said.
