Javier Baez made his 11th start at third base on Monday night for the Cubs, subbing for Kris Bryant, who is sidelined with a sore left shoulder, and he made a diving stop of Jorge Bonifacio’s hard-hit grounder in the Royals’ half of the second inning. Baez then scrambled to his feet in time to throw out Bonifacio at first.
