Ramonti won the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot by a half-length over Excellent Art on Saturday to give jockey Frankie Dettori his fourth win in the race. The Godolphin-bred 5-1 shot passed pacesetter Duke of Marmalade with two furlongs of the 1-mile race to go and stayed clear of favorite Excellent Art for the victory.

Half of a Churchill Downs barn that was put under quarantine last Friday had the restriction lifted Tuesday, allowing the horses to return to regular training. The Kentucky Department of Agriculture imposed the quarantine after a horse in Barn 47 was found to be infected with equine herpes virus. The 40-stall barn is divided by a firewall, the track said.

Country Star surged past four horses down the stretch Friday to win the Darley Alcibiades at Keeneland. With Rafael Bejarano aboard, the 2-year-old was running eighth in the field of 10 fillies at the three-quarter pole but took charge from there. “She just exploded,” Bejarano said. “I know the horse can do that because I’ve ridden her before.
